We are heading into the busy part of hurricane season, and we haven’t seen much action yet, but that doesn’t mean we should become complacent. Continuing to monitor and prepare for possible severe weather is crucial. The disturbance in red (Marked by the red X) has about a 50% chance of forming a cyclone in the next five days according to the National Weather Service, but the models are showing that it will move slow and will likely miss us. While this hurricane may not impact Nassau County, it is still important to continue monitoring the weather. September and October are historically the months we get the most hurricane formation. Hurricane Sally, Matthew, Michael, and Dorian all hit during the months of September and October. Make sure you have an evacuation plan along with the supplies you will need.
