Wildfire Bryceville 4/20/23

Update: 4/21/23 4pm

Fire activity was minimal today and great progress  was made. It will probably be another day or two before we have the final
count on acres burned but it is still believed to be around 1600 acres.

The Florida Forest Service will be deploying strike teams tomorrow and through the weekend to address hot spots. Nassau County Fire Rescue will provide supplemental tanker trucks to support operations through the remainder of the incident.

Roads have been reopened. However, Nassau County Sheriffs Officewill be patrolling through the evening. If the smoke settles back in and visibility is compromised then road closures will be reinstated as needed.

Update : 4/21/23 9am

The CR-121 Fire is at 50% containment with 1,600 acres burned. No structures are being threatened at this time. Crews will be actively working to create and improve existing containment lines throughout the day. Cause of fire is currently under investigation. Please avoid the areas of CR-119, CR-121 if possible as there will be heavy emergency crew activity. Drive cautiously in the area as smoke will hinder visibility.
